How to Create a High Vibration Home
It started with the toaster.
One morning, my toaster exploded. Not literally, but the toast launched across the kitchen like it had somewhere better to be. I sighed, picked it off the floor, and looked around.
There were unopened post piles. Dust on the skirting boards. A cactus that had died in 2021 but was still sitting there like an emotional support twig.
It hit me: my house didn’t feel like a home anymore. It felt… heavy. Stale. No wonder I was tired, snappy, and struggling to focus.
That’s when I decided to change the energy—not the furniture, not the layout, the energy. And it worked.
What is a High Vibration Home?
It’s not as airy-fairy as it sounds. A high vibration space simply feels good. Uplifting. Peaceful. Like you can breathe deeper and think clearer.
On the flip side, low-vibe spaces feel cluttered, tense or oddly draining—like your WiFi’s working but you’re buffering.
And no, it’s not just “woo” thinking. Environmental psychology research shows your surroundings directly affect your mood and behaviour (University of Reading). Your home literally impacts how well you sleep, think and relate to others.
Here’s how to make it feel lighter, calmer, and better.
Clear Out the Energy (and the Tat)
Start with the obvious: clutter. You don’t need to become a minimalist monk. Just get rid of what you no longer use or love. That pile of mismatched Tupperware lids? Bin it.
Once it’s tidy, cleanse the space energetically. That might mean burning sage, palo santo or incense. Or just opening the windows, lighting a candle, and saying, “right, fresh start.”
Think of it as hitting refresh. Less dust, less stress.
Invite Nature Indoors
Plants aren’t just décor. They change the air quality and lift the vibe. Research from the RHS confirms indoor plants can reduce stress, improve concentration, and purify the air.
Start with low-effort ones like snake plant, pothos or peace lily. Add wood, stone, or woven textures to bring natural calm into the space. Just be careful with your pets. Not all plants agree with all pets.
Oh, and let in more daylight. Your body and brain will thank you.
Use Crystals (They’re Not Just Pretty Rocks)
Crystals work like energetic batteries. They help you set intentions and shift mood.
Place these around the house:
Clear Quartz: Cleans energy, boosts clarity.
Amethyst: Calms anxiety. Ideal for bedrooms.
Citrine: Linked with joy and prosperity. Great near your workspace.
Not sure what to do with them? Place with purpose. Let the space know what energy you’re calling in.
Be Intentional With Colour
Colours mess with your head—in a good way, if used well.
Soft blues and greens: Calm the nervous system. Good for bedrooms.
Yellow or orange accents: Warm, energising, creative. Great in kitchens or home offices.
Avoid dull greys everywhere: Looks chic on Instagram. Feels flat in real life.
Paint, cushions, art—choose what lifts your energy when you see it.
Create Mini Altars or Intention Spots
You don’t need to chant at a shrine. Just create small spaces that remind you of your goals.
Write your intentions on paper. Place next to a crystal, photo, or candle. Somewhere you’ll actually see it—by the kettle, on your desk, or bedside.
It’s about focus. A nudge for your brain each day.
Add Sound That Shifts the Mood
Sound can raise a space’s vibration fast.
Try:
Soft music in the background
Singing bowls (YouTube works if you don’t own one)
Chimes by the window or door
Playing a sound bath while cleaning (trust me)
Even silence helps, if your space is usually noisy. The key is conscious sound, not background chaos.
Keep It Up (Without Losing the Plot)
Energy needs maintaining. Just like your loo needs scrubbing more than once a year.
Here’s how to keep it feeling fresh:
Smudge weekly or open windows to release stuck energy
Clean your crystals under moonlight or with water (check type first)
Watch your own mood—your energy affects the room
You don’t need to be perfect. Just aware.
